Privacy Policy

This site, clarelangley.co.uk, is owned and run by Clare Langley (“I”, “me”), based in Kent, United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email hello@clarelangley.co.uk.

If you get in touch by email or through the contact form, I receive whatever you send me: typically your name, email address, phone number, business name, what you are looking for and the message you write. I use this only to review and respond to your request and, if we work together, to deliver the project.

If you accept optional analytics, Google Analytics collects limited usage information such as pages viewed, interactions (including that the contact form was sent, but never what it said), approximate location, and browser or device details. It is used to understand and improve the website, not for advertising. Analytics does not load if you decline.

There are no accounts and no advertising or tracking on this site. The contact form does not use CAPTCHA or any third-party form service.

This site uses essential browser storage to remember your privacy choice, and to remember which project you last opened so the page transition animation works when you go back. Optional Google Analytics cookies are used only after you consent.

To take the steps you request before a possible contract, including reviewing your requirements, preparing a response, sending you an automatic confirmation email that your message has arrived, and discussing a potential project, and to deliver agreed projects. Analytics runs only with your consent. I don’t sell personal data, and I don’t use project enquiries as consent to send you marketing.

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like most web servers, Hostinger’s may keep basic technical logs, such as IP addresses, pages requested and times, for security and reliability. I don’t use these logs to identify or track individual visitors.

Messages sent through the contact form are not stored on the website itself. They are emailed straight to my email account, where they are held with my email provider, Hostinger, like any other email. When you send a message, you are also sent a one-off automatic confirmation email from that account.

If you accept analytics, usage data is processed by Google. Google may process this data outside the UK. See Google’s own privacy information for how it handles data.

Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and is then deleted automatically by Google Analytics.

Enquiries that do not become client projects are kept for up to three months and are then securely deleted. If we work together, I keep only the information needed for the active client relationship, and for my business records for as long as the law requires.

Case studies on this site link to the live websites of my clients. Those sites are run by their owners and have their own privacy policies.

Under UK GDPR, you can ask to see the data I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how it’s used, or ask for it in a portable format. Email hello@clarelangley.co.uk and I’ll sort it. If you’re not satisfied with my response, you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
